About Vidya Bharati Foundation of America

Vidya Bharati Sanskriti Shiksha Sansthan: At a Glance

Vidya Bharati Sanskriti Shiksha Sansthan was established on July 30, 1984, in Kurukshetra, Haryana, with the goal of developing an educational system grounded in the ideals and values of Indian culture, promoting the holistic growth of students.

Across the globe, many nations emphasize the importance of incorporating their religious, cultural, and national traditions into the educational curriculum, fostering a strong sense of awareness in younger generations. In pursuit of this objective, Vidya Bharati Sanskriti Shiksha Sansthan is focused on creating educational institutions at three levels, aimed at the physical, mental, intellectual, moral, and spiritual development of children.

The Sansthan also provides financial support to institutions aligned with these goals, publishes books, magazines, and other literature to promote these ideals, and fosters meaningful collaboration with organizations pursuing similar objectives.

Additionally, it organizes programs to keep students up-to-date with the latest achievements in science, establishes laboratories and scientific societies to spark interest in cultural, literary, and artistic pursuits, and hosts events like cultural awareness examinations and quiz competitions.

Our Mission

To develop a National System of Education aimed at nurturing a younger generation committed to Hindutva and imbued with patriotic spirit—one that is fully developed physically, mentally, and spiritually. This system will equip them to face life's challenges successfully and inspire them to serve their underprivileged brothers and sisters living in villages, forests, hills, and slums, who are deprived and destitute.

Through this dedication, we seek to free them from the chains of social evils and injustice, fostering a generation that contributes to building a harmonious, prosperous, and culturally rich nation.

About Vidya Bharati in India

Vidya Bharati has been providing quality education since 1952, with a steadfast commitment to educating the younger generation in alignment with Indian values and culture. A group of patriotic and dedicated individuals, who viewed education as a powerful tool for instilling these values, established the first school in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, in 1952.

They named the school Saraswati Shishu Mandir—a "Temple of the Goddess Saraswati" devoted to the children. Driven by their zeal, dedication, and hard work, similar schools began to emerge in other regions, with the number of schools rapidly increasing across Uttar Pradesh.

To ensure proper guidance and structured development, a state-level Shishu Shiksha Prabandh Samiti was formed in 1958. The Saraswati Shishu Mandirs became known for providing not only a strong education but also instilling good sanskaras (values), earning widespread recognition and respect. As a result, these schools quickly expanded to other states, and within a few years, many more were established across the country.
